Origin of MINDFULGym

What is MINDFULGym?

  • MINDFULGym is a stress reduction and wellness program developed by the consultant psychiatrist and mindfulness-based therapist Dr. Phang Cheng Kar (M.D.). It's based on ancient spiritual wisdom and state-of-the-art scientific research in mindfulness, cognitive behavior therapy, and positive psychology.



  • MINDFULGym is similar to the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programs developed in the United States and the United Kingdom respectively.



  • Customized for the multiethnic Malaysian community and supported by 12 local scientific research, MINDFULGym is the most evidence-based and leading mindfulness program in Malaysia.



  • The program has been shown to reduce psychological distress and improve emotional well-being among medical students, nurses, school teachers, patients with anxiety and/or depressive disorders, cancer patients, parents of children with autism, and general adults in the community.
