Mindful Breathing (I)

  • Mindful Breathing is a practice that involves paying attention and relating to our breathing with kindness and gentleness. It's useful for calming the mind and developing a positive mental attitude. 

  • Anchoring our attention on breathing is useful to stay calm when we're facing distressing situations, thoughts, and feelings. 

 

 

Mindful Breathing - Qigong Style

Breathing IN

Breathing OUT

As you breathe in and out easily, synchronize the in and out breaths with hands moving up and down as in qigong practice. On breathing in, elevate the hands above the head gracefully; on breathing out, drop the hands slowly and gently (see pictures above).
